Improve Incident Response During times of emergency or disaster, resource monitoring, assessment, and deployment is made challenging by the manual and paper processes that are currently used. While they can be effective during “normal” times, the need for proactive response, and coordinated behavior is hampered by the manual organization and reams of paperwork that currently make up the resource scheduling processes. Specifically, there are several impacts to emergency preparedness with current manual / paper scheduling processes: Collaborative coordination between sites, and domains (police, fire, EMS) is difficult because administration has no oversight on coverage and availability of key personnel. There are single points of failure in the scheduling system because generally there is only one or two “scheduling experts” that understand the scheduling process, paperwork associated with deployed resources. Thus if the schedule administrator is delayed or unavailable to respond in an emergency situation resource management could be problematic causing confusion and delays among emergency services workers
While the processes supporting resources scheduling are complex, the good news is that the associated problems can be mitigated. ScheduleExpress can substantially improve the deployment and oversight of emergency services resources in the event of a catastrophic event. Specifically:
Emergency services personnel resource scheduling can be managed effectively by automating processes that benefit emergency services call center employees and performance. By implementing ScheduleExpress across emergency services organizations, administration can focus on resolving the crisis, rather than trying to assess resource location, availability and function. |
